Hi everyone,
I should be posting my fifth Letter from Japan today - unfortunately there has been a shift in my plans. As many of you know I live with various mental and physical health conditions, both of which are have developed and expanded over the last six months. In light of this I’ve had to take the decision to streamline the work I do.
On a practical basis I need enough energy for paid work, and as a creator I need to focus on what sparks the deepest flicker of Wild Feeling, which is,for my sins, is poetry. Researching and writing for Substack takes several hours, which I can no longer spare, and the push and pull of the hustle for readers takes more emotional investment than I can afford.
I’ve loved writing for you all, and love the connections I’ve made - I feel like there are glimmers of friendship that I want to continue, and I hope to still be part of the reading community. I’ll pop back to let you know about anything good that’s happened, and if you want to keep in touch you’ll find me on Instagram and my website Kathrynannawrites.com has lots of my published work, as well as details of my books.
This Wild Feeling will stay live, and my archives will remain free to read, as will my poetry films.
Until next time (which I hope won’t be too long)
Kathryn
I wish you all the best. Thank you for putting me on your reading list. I hope you find joy in the everyday things despite your struggles.
Wishing you all the best, and glad you feel confident about what is best for you right now!
